- Classes requiring more collaboration and group work
- Students tackling real-world problems, creating as well as consuming content
- Real estate and facilities costs continuing to rise

Meanwhile, classrooms designed decades ago, with rows of desks and chairs and a podium, just don't make the grade.
Steelcase has studied colleges and universities extensively for many years. Based on this research, we developed a number of hypotheses about what a high performance classroom should be, and built a prototype classroom to test out hypotheses.
The new LearnLab Environment moves the classroom into the 21st century. It helps colleges offer a more powerful learning experience, and supports multiple ways instructors teach and students learn today. It introduces design innovations that can be applied to practically any classroom, new construction or renovation. |
